Heavy Rotation Records CD Release Concert - Wed., Feb. 10 |
|
Heavy Rotation Records (HRR) presents its 10th annual Epic Event and Dorm Sessions 7 CD release concert on Wednesday, February 10, at the Berklee Performance
Center. The concert, a popular event that packs the venue every year,
showcases artists featured on Dorm Sessions 7, the new
compilation CD by Berklee's student-run label Heavy Rotation Records.
The CD features a mix of rock, pop, folk, r&b, hip-hop, and funk by Berklee
students and alumni—including Ann Driscoll, Jordan Tarrant, Liz Longley, Liptease, Tin Soldier, Julia Easterlin, Black Kettle, Tais Alvarenga, and KR & the Future.
Free copies of the CD will be given away at the concert.
The HRR Epic Event and Dorm Sessions 7 CD release concert
is free with a Berklee ID if tickets are picked up at the BPC before the day of the event, $10 the day of the event and for non-Berklee attendees. This show is all ages and begins at 8:15 p.m. at the Berklee Performance

Mr. Barad will give insights gathered from his long career in the live music industry, where he has been an integral part of the acquisition, production, merchandising, budgeting, sponsorship affiliation and execution of concert tours by some of the biggest names in live touring. The list includes: U2, Madonna, The Rolling Stones (biggest grossing tour to date), The Police, Sting, David Bowie, Barbra Streisand, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Neil Young, Peter Gabriel, Pink Floyd, The Who, Rush, Shakira, Joni Mitchell, Paul McCartney, Bette Midler and The Area Festival.
Following his talk, Mr. Barad will be interviewed by Professor Jeff Dorenfeld. They will have an in-depth discussion of the business of touring, including new uses of technology and consolidation

From Boston to Hollywood on "Idol" |
Music Business/Management Students/Alumni to appear on American Idol
MBM students and alumni, Ashley Rodriguez, Jessica Wolfe, Jennifer Hirsh, and former MEISA President, Bosa Mora auditioned for American Idol last summer and were voted to go to Hollywood for the next round of competition. Suffolk University named among top 15 U.S. graduate programs |
The Princeton Review recently named Suffolk University among the top 15 U.S. graduate programs in global management for 2009.
The Suffolk Global MBA is:
* A specialized MBA degree in global business
* An intensive concentration in either international finance or international marketing
* A one-week Global Travel Seminar to experience business first-hand in Brazil. China, England, Germany, or India
* A three-month full-time summer internship outside your home country for full-time students
* A consulting project in the part-time program that includes one of the following:
1. A global research project at your company
2. A two-week intensive visit to a company outside the US for a consulting project that will then be completed upon your return
3. A three-month full-time summer internship outside your home country
Students who successfully complete the Music Business/Management
program and earn a Bachelor of Music degree from Berklee College of
Music may apply for acceptance to the Suffolk Accelerated MBA program.
