About Us

The student majoring in Music Business/Management (MB/M) will learn the skills, concepts, and methodologies necessary to manage the legal, financial, artistic, and ethical issues that face the contemporary music business professional. The student may choose one of three available tracks within the major: self-directed or entrepreneurial activity, music products industry, or management in corporate environments. The student will demonstrate functional mastery of necessary skills and concepts by completing a final project, a capstone experience with portfolio documentation, depending upon the major track chosen. Transfer Credit Information

The Office of the Registrar provides transfer credit services for prospective and enrolled students. If you are seeking to transfer credit into Berklee, please make sure of the following: -  The (domestic) college or university you attended must be an official regionally accredited institution*-  International transcripts must be submitted to a certified credential evaluation service-  Each course must have a grade of "C" (73% or 2.0) or higher (Please note that once the course is accepted it only transfers as earned credit(s) and the grade from the previous institution is not counted in your Berklee G.P.A.) Scholarships for MB/M Majors

During the spring semester each year, students in good academic standing who are currently enrolled in the degree or diploma program in Music Business/Management are eligible to apply for one or more of the following scholarships. The Office of Scholarships & Student Employment will email students directly in late January. Applications are typically due to the Music Business/Management Department in the second or third week of February. The MB/M Department makes the selections. NOTE: Because the funds are not awarded immediately, students must be enrolled for credits in the summer or fall following the spring application period to be eligible...

Internships in Music Business

What is the internship requirement in Music Business? MB/M students must complete one semester of the Internship in Music Business (MB-495) OR 2 semesters of the Senior Practicum Heavy Rotation Records (MB-490 and MB-491) OR 1 semester of the Entrepreneurial Practicum (MB-P493) in order to graduate. What are the prerequisites? The prerequisites are different depending on the student's catalog year. Please refer to the chart of prerequisites.

Suffolk Accelerated MBA

Students who successfully complete the Music Business/Management program and earn a Bachelor of Music degree from Berklee College of Music may apply for acceptance to the Suffolk Accelerated MBA program. Suffolk University was named among the top 15 U.S. graduate programs in Global Management by the Princeton Review, 2009. Through a special arrangement, you may receive credit for your Berklee coursework in the Music Business/Management major towards an MBA from Suffolk.  Nearly a semester of the four-semester Suffolk program is eligible for course waiver consideration, saving you considerable time and cost in earning this valuable degree.
